A featherweight fight between Alex Caceres and Kevin Croom has been added to a Fight Night card in February.

UFC on ESPN+ 46, which goes down on February 27, has added a featherweight fight between Alex Caceres and Kevin Croom to its lineup. The booking was first reported by MMA Junkie on Monday afternoon.

Caceres and Croom were scheduled to fight in August of this year at UFC on ESPN+ 33 where the latter stepped in as a short-notice replacement for Giga Chikadze. As quickly as Croom entered the fight, he was also out of it, being removed from the card for undisclosed reasons and subsequently cut from the promotion.

Caceres went on to fight promotional newcomer in Austin Springer, who he defeated in the first round by way of rear-naked choke. The win over Springer saw Caceres extend his win streak to three after previously defeating the likes of Steven Peterson and Chase Hooper by unanimous decision in respective fights at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards and UFC 250.

Croom was brought back just a month later when he was re-signed to the UFC and was set to make his debut against Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs. Hill in September. Croom, one of the biggest underdogs on the card that night, stunned with a quick submission over Roberts, who was tapped with a standing guillotine choke in 31 seconds.

Shortly after the fight, Croom saw his win over Roberts overturned to a No Contest because due to testing positive for marijuana. He was handed a four-and-a-half month suspension, which will be completed by Jan. 26, 2021.

UFC on ESPN+ 46 will likely be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup between former title challenger Dominick Reyes and No. 5 ranked contender Jiri Prochazka. The location and venue of the event have yet to be determined.
