The former UFC fighter will make her BKFC debut on February 5th.
Former UFC strawweight and flyweight Paige VanZant has officially booked her first fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships. According to MMA Fighting, VanZant is scheduled to meet BKFC veteran Britain Hart on February 5th.
VanZant shared the news of her booking on Instagram.
VanZant’s debut opponent has switched back and forth between pro boxing and bare knuckle fighting since 2017. Her BKFC debut came in 2018 at BKFC 2. There she headlined the event opposite former UFC fighter, and current BKFC champion, Bec Rawlings.
She lost that bout to Rawlings by split decision. Hart’s next bare knuckle fight came against Invicta FC veteran Christine Ferea. She lost that bout by first round doctor stoppage.
In November Hart earned her first bare knuckle win in a fight with Randine Elkholm at BKFC 14: Palomino vs. Alers. Hart won that bout by fourth round TKO.
VanZant fought with the UFC from 2014 to 2020. Her promotional debut featured a TKO victory over Kailin Curran. She followed that win up with victories over Felice Herrig and Alex Chambers.
Next up VanZant scored a main event slot opposite future UFC champion Rose Namajunas. VanZant lost that fight by submission. She then rebounded with a switch kick KO of Bec Rawlings.
Since the Rawlings fight VanZant went 1-3 and ended her contract with an armbar loss to Amanda Ribas at UFC 251 last July.
