Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor are currently in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) business. “Notorious” is set to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Jan. 23, while “The Eagle” recently had a meeting with Dana White to discuss his fighting future, though there wasn’t much clarity after the much-hyped get together and subsequent “announcement.”
Many feared that since both fighters have business in the same hotel that their paths would eventually cross and all hell would break loose, much like it did the last two times they were in close contact with one another.
See the madness here and here.
And just yesterday (Mon., Jan. 18, 2021) the two two men narrowly missed running into each other inside the fighter hotel. After McGregor arrived with his family, video footage courtesy of Full Reptile shows Nurmagomedov and his entourage making their way down the same lobby seconds later.
Thankfully they didn’t see one another or there is no telling what might have occurred, though it’s safe to say cooler heads would have likely prevailed since McGregor had his son in his arms, with his pregnant wife and daughter not too far behind.
“The Eagle” has stated that he has no plans to stick around to see McGregor battle Poirier, and fully intends to fly back home after he sees his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov, make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Island 8 on Weds., Jan. 20.
Of course, that still leaves a little bit of a chance for “Notorious” and “The Eagle” to run into one another.
