Check out the third episode of Embedded for UFC 257.
UFC 257 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the third episode for this weekend’s big show on Fight Island, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at the W Hotel in Abu Dhabi, where Dan Hooker is doing a tropical-themed photo shoot, with blow-up palm trees and floaties and stuff. He says he’s a fan of the sport and it’s an exciting time right now. He bumps into Ray Sefo and Brad Tavares in the hallway. He really likes the idea of fighting Michael Chandler, and doesn’t care that he’s unranked.
He runs into Chandler in the hallway, and they’re respectful. Chandler is happy that Hooker took the fight. He says that the fans are going to appreciate his aggressive style. He has gratitude towards the fan and the media for the attention, and he feels like he was underutilized for a long time.
Dustin Poirier goes for a run with his team. Mike Brown says it’s not a heavy workout, but Poirier likes it that way. Poirier introduces his longtime manager, and says that fighting has given him the life that he has.
Conor time. McGregor is very confident coming in. He has respect and admiration for Poirier, but he’s gonna beat him up. He still says he’ll finish Poirier in 60 seconds, but he also wants to get some rounds in. Conor liked the idea of an empty arena to hear what his strikes sound like, but only a couple thousand fans is good too. He just wants to make highlights.
McGregor goes to sign some posters, and talks about Max Holloway not even being on the poster when they fought. His son comes over, and they amusingly sign a few posters at the same time. He’s happy to have his family with him. His son is hungry. Conor seems a lot more humble than normal.
And that’s it! UFC 257 goes down this weekend on Fight Island.
