We asked three bartenders to give us their thoughts on Conor McGregor’s Proper 12 neat, on ice, and mixed.
While Conor McGregor may not be the most active fighter inside the cage these days, he’s been one of the most successful outside of it. Most notably with his branded ‘Proper 12’ whiskey.
“Over $1b generated in Whiskey sales in my first year!” McGregor wrote in a 2019 Instagram post. “Like it or not, there is a new King in town! Proper Whiskey, liquid sunshine!”
Whether those numbers are entirely up to snuff or not, there’s little doubting the brand’s success, hitting store shelves throughout the US and UK as well as Ireland. Fighting in the UFC may have made Conor McGregor a superstar, but the liquor business is where he’s making bank.
So, with a return to the Octagon against Dustin Poirier upcoming, we’ve gathered together a few bartenders from around the US to give his whiskey a try and tell us what they thought. Check out the video above, and stay tuned to Bloody Elbow for more news and notes on UFC 257, headlined by the ‘Notorious’ Irishman’s rematch against the ‘Diamond’.
