Check out the sixth and final episode of Embedded for UFC 258.
UFC 258 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the sixth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at the PI. Vicente Luque talks about how good Gilbert Burns looks. His coach talks about how his personal life taking a turn for the better really affected his fighting life as well. Kelvin Gastelum has a few pounds to lose before weigh-ins.
Ian Heinisch is hitting some pads in his room and getting ready for the hard part of the weight cut. His coach discusses his mental toughness.
Back to the Performance Institute, where the champ is getting in a light workout before the weight cut. Trevor Wittman marvels at how much of a professional he is, and doesn’t want to interfere with his weight cut.
Gilbert Burns is on his way to the weigh-in, and is happy the van driver put on some good music and hung a Brazillian flag for him.
Time for the official weigh-ins. Kamaru Usman is the first person to the scale. 170 on the dot for the champ. Maycee Barber is 126. Alexa Grasso is 125.5. Heinisch is 185.5. Gastelum is 186. Burns makes the mark at 170, and he’s excited. Everything is respectful with the face-offs, but Burns and Usman stare at each other for a looooong time and Dana White is awkward.
Game time! UFC 258 starts right about now in UFC Apex. Let’s go!
