Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has been the betting underdog in his last four fights, because bookies believe “Polish Power” is just another myth, like Bigfoot, the Lochness monster, and fighters who don’t take steroids.

That’s why the Blachowicz faithful continue to get rich. Not only has the former KSW bruiser won all four of those fights, he’s ended three of them by way of knockout, including last September’s destruction of top contender Dominick Reyes.

“After I beat [Luke] Rockhold, I was also an underdog there,” Blachowicz told MMA Fighting. “One guy after the fight came to me and said ‘thank you my friend, because thanks to you I’m a rich man right now,’ and I said what happened? He said thanks to me he won $50,000. So it’s nice to hear something like that after that. Maybe right after this fight, someone will win big money also.”

Blachowicz (27-8) will make his first 205-pound title defense when he collides with reigning middleweight kingpin Israel Adesanya (20-0) in the UFC 259 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for March 6 at APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The oddsmakers currently have “The Last Stylebender” as the -250 favorite.

“I’m always the underdog and I always win the fight,” Blachowicz continued. “It’s really nice. I could be the underdog every time. Maybe after this fight when I win this fight, I believe I will win this fight, maybe after this fight people will start believing in me, respect me and that’s it. But anyways, I don’t care about this. He’s a really good fighter. He’s a champion. Nobody defeat him. 20-0 also so he is good, he has to be good but it’s time for 20-1.”
