It seems that Derrick Lewis hurt his hand on Curtis Blaydes’ head at some point.
UFC Vegas 19 is in the books and as usual on a card full of finishes, there are a lot of medical suspensions to go through. The Nevada State Athletic Commission ended up giving a total of ten fighters upwards of 180-day suspensions. Of course, these can all be ended early with doctor’s clearance and are only suspected injuries. Still though, I haven’t seen ten 180-day ones from one card in a while.
Here’s a look at the whole list (via MMA Junkie), which oddly includes a lot of right hands needing an x-ray (including headliner Derrick Lewis following his vicious knockout of Curtis Blaydes).
Derrick Lewis: Needs X-ray of right hand and wrist, and clearance by doctor, otherwise suspended 180 days; minimum suspension is 21 days with 14 days no contact.
Curtis Blaydes: Suspended 60 days with 45 days no contact.
Ketlen Vieira: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact due to forehead laceration.
Darrick Minner: Suspended 21 days with 14 days no contact.
Charles Rosa: Needs X-ray of right hand, and clearance by doctor, or suspended 180 days; minimum suspension is 45 days with 30 days no contact due to forehead laceration.
Chris Daukaus: Needs X-ray of right hand, and clearance by doctor, otherwise suspended 180 days.
Aleksei Oleinik: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.
Phil Hawes: Suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact due to left eyebrow and right cheek lacerations.
Nassourdine Imamov: Suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact.
Tom Aspinall: Suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact.
Andrei Arlovski: Needs X-ray of right foot, and clearance by doctor, otherwise suspended 180 days; minimum suspension is 45 days with 30 days no contact.
Jared Gordon: Suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact.
