The busy schedule at women’s flyweight continues, as Andrea Lee faces Antonina Shevchenko at UFC 262.
A women’s flyweight matchup between Andrea Lee and Antonina Shevchenko has been added to UFC 262 in May.
MMA Junkie announced the news, though the UFC is yet to confirm the fight.
Shevchenko (9-2) has gone 2-2 in her last four UFC appearances. Dropping fights to top contenders Roxanne Modafferi and Katlyn Chookagian, Shevchenko has picked up stoppage wins against Ariane Lipski and Lucie Pudilova. The older sister of reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko, “La Pantera” was signed to the UFC after impressing on the Contender Series back in 2018.
Lee (11-5) has lost her last three UFC fights. “KGB” dropped decisions to Modafferi and Lauren Murphy in 2020, and was on the wrong end of another decision to Joanne Calderwood in 2019. It’s a disappointing run of form for the former LFA champion Lee, who won her first three UFC appearances after signing with the promotion in 2017.
UFC 262 takes place on May 15 at a location and venue to be determined. No main event has been linked to this card as of yet.
