Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 259.
UFC 259 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s huge show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at the UFC Performance Institute with light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz. He uses a roller thing on his head for some reason. His training partner says the fights will take place in the smaller Octagon. It’s the champ’s birthday. A bunch of the staff sings him happy birthday and gives him a small cake.
Down at ATT, Amanda Nunes and Nina Ansaroff are playing with their newborn. Nunes says training is better now that they have the kid, because she’s always happy. Ansaroff quips that Nunes is actually on time for things now.
Now we move over to Thiago Santos, who is doing some strength and conditioning along with Nunes. Nunes talks up opponent Megan Anderson, saying it’s going to be a battle.
Back to Vegas, where Blachowicz is going on a bike ride with his team. He likes doing things like this to change it up. He loves the scenery and feels like it gives him mental strength. He goes downhill fast, but he’s careful not to get hurt.
Now we’re over at Aljamain Sterling’s Vegas residence. He’s got some of his team with him. He discusses the fight with champ Petr Yan while playing chess with his friend. He compares chess to a fight, and his friend laughs at him.
Israel Adesanya arrives at the Vegas airport. His coach tells his team that they’re going into quarantine right away. The champ slept for the whole flight. He goofs around with a cameraman.
And that’s it! UFC 259 goes down this Saturday night in Sin City.
