Saturday night, March 6, 2021, the UFC showcases three title battles, for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, the UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship & the UFC Featherweight Championship on the main card. The UFC 259 PPV event is being broadcast from the Apex Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Returning to the octagon for that main event, we have the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jan Blachowicz, with a remarkable 27-8 record, after an almost six-month break from UFC action, to defend his title against the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion, ‘The Last Stylebender’ Israel Adesanya – arguably one of the best strikers in all of MMA – entering with his impressive, undefeated 20-0 record.

In the co-main event, we have the highly predictable Women’s UFC Featherweight Championship between ‘The Lioness’, Amanda Nunes, entering the octagon with a strong #1 ranked 20-4 record vs. Megan Anderson, with her #5 ranked 10-4 record. Nunes is a massive favorite heading into this fight, so it is highly likely Anderson gets a severe beat down here. Nunes is the first woman to become a two-division UFC champion, and the third fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes simultaneously, after Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier. She is also the first and only fighter in UFC history to defend two titles while actively holding them. Nunes is widely considered to be the greatest women’s MMA fighter of all time.

Our third title fight of the event is for the UFC Bantamweight Championship between the reigning champion Petr Yan and the #1 ranked contender, Aljamain ‘Funk Master’ Sterling, our staff here at BE mainly leans towards Yan winning via decision here, but we do have a couple holdouts for Sterling to pull the title off Yan…

Also on the card, we have an exciting Light Heavyweight bout taking place between fight veteran ‘Maretta’ (The Sledgehammer) Thiago Santos, with his storied 21-8 career record matched up against the up-and-comer Aleksandar Raki? sporting a 13-2 record (with only one loss since October, 2011). Raki? debuted in the UFC a little over three years ago and is a rising star, currently ranked #5, behind Santos who is at #4 after eight years of UFC performances.

These bouts will have been preceded by a fully-packed ten bout undercard. What a wild night full of fights we have to share with you!
