Jan Blachowicz teases of a heavyweight super fight with Jon Jones.
Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones might be the talk of the town, but Jan Blachowicz is not to be overlooked.
Blachowicz is scheduled to defend his light heavyweight title against ‘The Last Stylebender’ in the UFC 259 main event and, if victorious, the Pole is open to fight Jones at heavyweight.
Adesanya would like to get there first, but Blachowicz could beat him to the punch if he pulls off the upset on Saturday night. The UFC light heavyweight champ said he would love to give Jones a taste of his ‘legendary Polish power’ at heavyweight.
“I don’t know what Jon Jones right now what he do. He not my problem. If he not coming back to 205, I’ll go to heavyweight and catch him there,” Blachowicz told TMZ Sports ahead of UFC 259. “No problem! He’s not my problem now, my problem is Israel. I focus all about him. Nothing more in my head. Just Israel.”
But first, Adesanya.
Blachowicz plans to become the first person to beat the undefeated middleweight champ and send him packing to 185 pounds.
“I believe that I’m going to be the first one who beat him after this Saturday,” Blachowicz said. “He gonna be 20 and 1, this what I believe and that’s it. I know that he’s really great fighter, amazing fighter, one of the best in the world but anyway I got my time right now, it’s my division and I will stop him.”
UFC 259: Blachowicz vs. Adesanya will take place Saturday, March 6 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.
