In the co-main event of UFC 259, Amanda Nunes made quick work of Megan Anderson winning by first-round submission.

What was the high point of the fight?

Nunes opened the first round with a hard leg kick. An overhand right from Nunes rocked Anderson and left her on wobbly legs. Anderson shot for a takedown in desperation.

After a scramble on the floor, Nunes took the back of Anderson and almost wrapped up a rear-naked choke. Anderson defended well, but in doing so gave up her arm and Nunes locked in the armbar for the submission win.

Where do they go from here?

Nunes continues to prove why she is currently the most dominant champion in the UFC. Who else can she fight? ‘The Lioness’ has wiped the floor with everyone the UFC has put in front of her. If the promotion does end up scrapping the women’s featherweight division, Nunes will have to wait for a clear bantamweight contender to arise.

Anderson was hoping to pull off the underdog story against Nunes but like many others, she fell short in doing so. She didn’t even get going and with the future of 145-pounds in doubt, it’s hard to say what’s next for Anderson.
