Jon Jones may not be the stupid one after all.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion is sticking to his strength-training routine for the inevitable move up to heavyweight, where the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 — and a 265-pound title fight — awaits.
This latest clip features “Bones” flaunting what he calls “grown man strength,” which in meat-speak means you lift more weight than you can handle, hold your breath during each rep, and clang the metal together to make sure everyone hears your swole-ness.
Respect.
Jones was getting a lot of flak from social media rival Israel Adesanya, as well as Daniel Cormier, for his decision to pack on some extra muscle. Then “The Last Stylebender” got pushed around by Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259 on March 6 in Las Vegas.
“Next time we go to light heavyweight, we definitely stack on some weight and try to get our walk-around weight and our fight weight a little higher, for sure, to a proper light heavyweight limit,” Adesanya’s coach, Eugene Bareman, told Submission Radio.
A date for Jones’ heavyweight debut has yet to be determined.
