Conor McGregor recently sold his shares of Proper 12 to the makers of Jose Cuervo tequila.
Conor McGregor has doubled his net worth to well over $300 million USD with the sale of his Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey, according to a report from Danny Jones of Joe.co.uk.
‘The Notorious’ sold his whiskey brand to Mexican beverage company Becle for a reported £122 million (roughly $155M USD), per his long-time manager, Audie Attar.
McGregor, who is one of the richest athletes in the world, launched Proper No. Twelve in 2018 and the company became an overnight success. The former two-division UFC champion was thought to have made a fortune from the whiskey but, up until now, no one knew just how much he had made.
McGregor is expected to return to the octagon to complete his trilogy with Dustin Poirier after being knocked out by ‘The Diamond’ at UFC 257. McGregor had previously KO’d Poirier in a featherweight contest back in 2014, meaning both men are now tied 1-1.
McGregor’s longtime coach, John Kavanagh, is excited about the trilogy and says his prized student will be approaching the matchup with a completely different strategy.
“Conor was always famous for his movement, his ability to change stances, his bounce as he would say. We got to bring that back. It’s there, it’s under the hood, it’s not skills that have to be learned or relearned, they just have to be re-ignited.”
