Misha Cirkunov and Ryan Spann faced off in a Light Heavyweight clash tonight (Sat., March 13, 2021) inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 21.
Cirkunov opened with some good shots, including a clean left hand. Cirkunov continued to ramp up the aggression with a clean jab, but Spann countered well. Suddenly, a huge right hand from Spann sends his opponent to the canvas! It looks like a one-punch knockout, but Cirkunov recovered when he hit the mat. Spann let him stand back up moments later, and that proved the correct decision, as another big punch from Spann sent him back to the mat for a very quick finish.
This is honestly a bit of a baffling performance from Cirkunov, who was extremely aggressive opposite a man he had to know was trying to knock him out! Spann capitalized on his foe’s pressure wonderfully, and once he hurt his opponent, he patiently forced the finish to score a big win.
Result: Ryan Spann defeats Misha Cirkunov via first-round knockout
