UFC Vegas 22 injuries and medical suspensions were submitted to MixedMartialArts.com earlier this week for those athletes competing at the “Brunson vs. Holland” event last weekend (Sat., March 20, 2021) from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Not surprisingly, a fair share of combatants were handed mandatory timeouts, including middleweight headliners Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland. Both fighters will be sat for a couple of weeks following Brunson’s unanimous decision victory over “Trailblazer.”

The full list of UFC Vegas 22 medical suspensions (courtesy of MMA Junkie) includes:

Song Kenan: Suspended 60 days with 45 days no contact due to right facial laceration.
Cheyanne Buys: Needs X-ray of right elbow, and clearance by doctor, otherwise suspended 180 days; minimum suspension is 30 days with 21 days no contact.

Bruno Silva: Suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact.
J.P. Buys: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.

Max Griffin, Tai Tuivasa, and Montel Jackson escaped UFC Vegas 22 without suspension.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
