The folks over at Combat Culture have put together a few points of interest for this weekend’s UFC 260 PPV, to highlight a few less obvious points going into Stipe Miocic’s title defense against Francis Ngannou.

It’s been more than three years since heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic last faced off against Francis Ngannou. The two men met in the main event of UFC 220 back in 2018, for a record setting third defense of the heavyweight belt by a sitting champion.

Miocic used his rangy boxing and strong takedown game to win the day in a grueling 5-round decision. In the time since, he’s only fought one man, former UFC double champ and current UFC color commentator Daniel Cormier.

For his part, Ngannou followed the loss to Miocic with a shockingly terrible performance against Derrick Lewis at UFC 226. However in the four fights after that loss he’s finished two former champions and two potential top contenders all with first round KOs. That’s set the Cameroonian-born Frenchmen up perfectly to once again contend with UFC gold.

So, before the two heavyweights step into the Octagon check out this video from our partners over at Combat Culture and maybe learn a few more of the dynamics in play when Miocic and Ngannou meet again on March 27th.
