Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back tonight, Saturday, March 27th., 2021, to breakdown the ‘UFC 260 – ‘MIOCIC VS N’GANNOU 2’ event, which was broadcast from the APEX Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event in the player above, or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network. (SPOILERS…)

Tonight, the UFC showcased what they were calling the “Undisputed Biggest, Undeniably Baddest Rematch’. It was touted as being an all out battle for the UFC Heavyweight Championship between fight veterans Stipe Miocic and Francis N’Gannou in the main event. The UFC 260 PPV (pay-per-view) event was broadcast from the Apex Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Returning to this 30% smaller octagon for that main event, we had the two-time and current reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion, Stipe Miocic. He entered the bout with a remarkable 20-3 record, after a seven-month break from UFC action, when he fought and defeated Daniel Cormier back-to-back. Stipe was defending his title against arguably the hardest puncher in UFC history, the #1 ranked Heavyweight, ‘The Predator’ Francis N’Gannou – who entered the bout with his impressive, 15-3 record, on a four-fight win streak over the likes of Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez and Curtis Blaydes – all first round finishes in under a minute. Tonight, the “baddest man on the planet”, N’Gannou, ended this brawl at a mere 53 seconds of round 2, via KO/TKO – Left Hook, to take the belt from Stipe. We now have a new Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.

In the co-main event, we had a Welterweight tilt between ‘The Chosen One’ Tyron Woodley and ‘The Silent Assassin’ Vicente Luque. Woodley was on a three-fight losing streak to Covington, Burns and Usman. Luque was on a two-fight win streak, having brutally defeated both Randy Brown and Niko Price during the past year. Only having lost one of his last nine fights, which was via Unanimous Decision against Stephen Thompson back at UFC 244. Luque impressed us with a dominant first round finish, via D’Arce Choke submission after strikes.

Also on the card, we anticipated an exciting Featherweight bout between fight veteran Thomas ‘Thominhas’ Almeida, with his storied 22-4 career record, on a three-fight losing streak, matched up against the up-and-comer ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley, sporting a 12-1 record (with only one loss since December, 2019). Sugar put on an exciting show, almost taking the bout early on, but ultimately getting the ‘W’ with a third round finish. In addition to that, we had a fun match-up between Women’s Flyweights Gillian ‘The Savage’ Robertson and ‘Fear the’ Miranda Maverick. Maverick had won her last six bouts via submission, decision win, two wins via rear naked choke, another decision win and most recently a doctor stoppage due to a cut delivered in round 1 against Liana Jojua at UFC 254, tonight she added to her streak with another decision victory.

These bouts were preceded by our featured main card opener – which was a 46-second bout between Jamie Mullarkey and Khama Worthy, and a brief five-bout undercard.

Overall, this ten-bout card saw three exciting first round finishes, two fantastic submissions, and four phenomenal KO/TKO’s – including our main event, along with four decisions – one split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Francis N’Gannou & Sean O’Malley; FOTN honors went to Tyron Woodley vs. Vicente Luque. What a night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action…
