Tony Ferguson trained with a GOAT while he waits to return to the cage.

Top UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson is currently in uncharted territory. After he lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 256 in December, El Cucuy now finds himself on the first losing streak of his 30 fight career.

His back-to-back losses to Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje (who defeated him by TKO at UFC 249 last May) are the first losses on Ferguson’s record since way back in 2012, when he dropped a decision to Michael Johnson.

Between losses Ferguson went on a storied run, winning 12 fights and beating the likes of Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Kevin Lee, Rafael dos Anjos and Edson Barboza.

The recent losses have seen Ferguson’s stock plummet in the UFC’s lightweight division, leaving him a spectator for the upcoming vacant title fight between Oliveira and Michael Chandler.

Earlier this month Ferguson announced that he would be teaming up with iconic boxing trainer Freddie Roach. Part of the reason for switching coaching personnel, according to Ferguson, was one of his corners forgetting to have water ready between rounds.

At Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club Ferguson recently found himself training alongside one of the GOATs of MMA; Georges St-Pierre.

GSP recently posted an Instagram a pic of he, Roach and Ferguson, claiming Roach’s shop was his “Home away from home”.

St-Pierre is known to keep in fighting shape, despite being thoroughly retired from cage-fighting. Perhaps he was staying sharp for future appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Currently you can find ‘Rush’ playing the role of Batroc the Leaper in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
