Roger Huerta returned to the cage earlier today after a 17-month layoff to face Christopher Gonzalez at Bellator 255 inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Coming into the Lightweight bout, “El Matador” was riding a three fight losing streak, having last tasted victory in 2017, a disqualification victory over Hayder Hassan.
When it was all said and done, Huerta left the Bellator cage with four straight losses after suffering a third round loss, tapping to strikes. But it was all Gonzalez prior to that, because the rising standout dominated the bell from beginning to end, even winning a 10-8 round in the opening frame.

With the loss, there is no telling where “El Matador” (37) goes from here. As for Gonzalez, the talented wrestling standout is on the rise and improves to 6-0 and looks to crack the Top 10 with his huge win.
