Women’s bantamweight contender Aspen Ladd is getting back into the Octagon.
Coming back from an ACL and MCL tear is tough work, but Aspen Ladd is doing it. The women’s bantamweight contender will return to the Octagon on July 24th, where she is set to face off with Macy Chiasson. The fight was initially reported by ESPN, citing unnamed sources.
Ladd (9-1, 4-1 UFC) has not competed since December 2019, where she stopped Yuna Kunitskaya with strikes. Her only loss in the UFC to date came at the hands of former UFC women’s featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie.
Chiasson (7-1, 5-1 UFC), the TUF 28 women’s featherweight winner, has picked up wins in each of her last two contests over Marion Reneau and Shanna Young. The only blemish on her record came in September 2019 where she dropped a decision to Lina Lansberg.
Ladd currently sits at in the number three contender position in the official UFC rankings, while Chiasson is at nine.
The July 24th event does not have any other fights attached to it as of yet, and where it will take place is unclear at this point.
