Conor McGregor has predicted a fourth-round KO against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout at UFC 264.
Conor McGregor has predicted a knockout victory against Dustin Poirier in their upcoming trilogy bout at UFC 264, claiming that he will finish ‘The Diamond’ in spectacular fashion with a ‘front kick to the nose’ in the fourth round.
McGregor, who suffered a TKO loss to Poirier at UFC 257, made the prediction after posting a video in which he showcased a variety of kicks and punches on the heavy bag at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.
“The prediction is in! I’m going to win the trilogy fight via A Front Kick to the nose. Round number 4.His Nose needs straightenin and I’m Rhinoplasty,” McGregor posted on Instagram last week.
Conor McGregor certainly appears to be lighter on his feet than in the training footage we saw before the Dustin Poirier rematch.
Thoughts, folks?

McGregor’s bag workout and follow-up statement confirms that the former UFC two-division champion will be approaching the Poirier rematch with a different gameplan. ‘The Notorious’ was flatfooted and boxing orientated in the UFC 257 main event but John Kavanagh claims his prized student will be much lighter on the feet at UFC 264.
“Conor was always famous for his movement, his ability to change stances, his bounce as he would say,” Kavanagh said. “We got to bring that back. It’s there, it’s under the hood, it’s not skills that have to be learned or relearned, they just have to be re-ignited”.
McGregor has had success with kicks in the past but the Irishman has finished most of his opponents with his vaunted left hand. McGregor’s first matchup against Poirier at UFC 178 saw the Dubliner drop and finish Poirier with a grazing left hook in the first round.
