Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor got into a huge, headlining-making spat just days before UFC 264 tickets were released? What a coincidence!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today announced that T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will reopen at full capacity — to the tune of more than 20,000 attendees — for the upcoming UFC 264: “Poirier vs. McGregor 3” pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sat., July 10, 2021.
Too soon? Not if you’re the guy cashing this check.
That might come as a surprise to those fans expecting a new headliner for this summer’s mega-card. McGregor recently told the combat sports community that he was canceling his Poirier rubber match and searching for a new lightweight opponent after “The Diamond” did the unthinkable and … hurt his feelings.
Signed contracts on both sides would suggest otherwise.
UFC spent the last year staging select closed-door events inside its own APEX facility in Las Vegas, previously used for Dana White’s “Contender Series” and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) tapings. Those programs are expected to continue at APEX as the promotion takes its PPV cards — as well as select ESPN and ESPN+ offerings — back on the road.
