Jake Paul is adamant about fighting Daniel Cormier.
Over the last few days, there’s been a brewing rift between Jake Paul and retired former UFC champ-champ Daniel Cormier. It all started when “DC” called out one of Paul’s cornermen and current boxing super-middleweight J’Leon Love for a backstage incident with Tyron Woodley on Saturday night.
Okay fat boy. So me vs you & J vs. T.?? https://t.co/MDhyPTVpIN

Now, it’s easy to dismiss this kind of tweet as mere macho posturing. But as Jake himself showed, it seems like he does want some of that smoke.
The most recent episode of the Impaulsive podcast was a family affair, with the Paul brothers and their father Gregory present. Jake took issue with Cormier’s pre and post-fight statements, which appeared contradicting.
“This is the point I’m trying to get at. So many fake motherf—rs in this generation,” Jake said. “Daniel Cormier. ‘That’s my boy, Ben. He’s gonna beat Jake, he pushed him in the face so he’s gonna win now. Chirp, chirp chirp.’
“I knock him out, he’s on Twitter. ‘Ben, are you serious, bro? He went down like that. Ben, are you kidding me? I can’t believe you did that to the MMA…’ Shut the f—k up, b-tch!
“Daniel Cormier, I’ll beat the f—k out of your fat ass, too. Just like Stipe did. Cleveland sh-t. I swear to God. I’ll beat the f—k out of Daniel Cormier.
At this point, dad chimed in to say he’s got his “money on Jake in a boxing match.”
To his credit, Logan was sensible enough to tell both his father and brother to quiet down and show some respect for Cormier. Jake obliged for a while but carried on with the call-out.
“Look, I respect him, I think he’s great, he had an amazing career,” Jake said of Cormier. “I’m appreciative of what he’s done for the MMA community. But don’t switch up on your boy like that. It shows your true character.
“And by the way, I will fight him. Let’s run the pay-per-view.”
From his end, Cormier already put this issue to bed.
I’m not gonna punch down to some kid that’s on YouTube that’s, like, ‘Fight me!’ Like, why? What have you done to earn the right to fight me? So, no, it’s silly and stupid. But I would like him to fight Tyron. I would like to see him fight somebody more real. Don’t fight Ben Askren at 190, bloated.
Fight a middleweight. Fight Luke Rockhold! Let me see you fight Luke Rockhold or somebody like that. And then I will not only say that you have base skills, I will say you’re a real fighter. Because right now it’s all pretend. It’s all pretend.
