Bellator 258: “Archuleta vs Pettis” is set to air TONIGHT (Fri., May 7, 2021) from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., broadcasting via Showtime. Current Bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta will face Sergio Pettis in the main event of the evening. In the co-headlining act, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title contender Anthony Johnson will make his promotional debut against Jose Augusto (not Yoel Romero) in a Light Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinal tournament bout.
Bellator 258’s main card will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET. MMAmania.com will deliver results for the full card and comprehensive play-by-play for the televised portion of Bellator 258 below.

BELLATOR 258 PLAY-BY-PLAY RESULTS:
Juan Archuleta vs. Sergio Pettis
Round one: Archuleta with a double jab. A lot of movement from both men to start. They exchange in the center of the cage. Both men firing with bad intentions. High kick barely misses from Pettis. Pettis lunges in and misses with a left hook, Archuleta grabs a hold of a leg and takes Pettis down. Back up and Archuleta pushes Pettis up against the cage. They separate and Archuleta lands a good right hand, counter from Pettis. Another great counter right hand from Pettis lands flush. Kick to the body from Archuleta and Pettis fires back with a right hand, and then clips the champ with another. Pettis looks good. Kick to the body from Pettis and Archuleta lands a takedown at the end of the round to steal it. 10-9 Archuleta
Round two: Archuleta on the offensive right away. Nice punch to the body from the champ, and then back upstairs. Pettis working the jab. Archuleta changes levels and lands another takedown. Back to the feet and straight to the center of the cage. Pettis firing some heavy bombs but nothing lands cleanly. Archuleta missed with a lunging right hand, but connects with a sort of back-hand slap. Nice jab from Pettis whips Archuleta’s head back. Nice punch to the body from the champ. Kick to the body from Archuleta and Pettis counters with a right hand and Archuleta is cut! Pettis land another right hand as Archuleta goes in for a takedown to end the round. Doesn’t get it. 10-9 Pettis.
Round three: Archuleta misses a high kick. Pettis with a push kick to the champ’s knee. Nice right hand from Pettis lands flush. They exchange again in the center of the cage and their striking is lighting quick. Left hand lands for Pettis as Archuleta rushes in with a two-punch combo. Counter right from Pettis. Nice front kick from Pettis tags the champ right in the face. Both men still keeping a great pace. Pettis counters with a two-punch combo and the champ fires back one of his own. Archuleta goes in for the takedown, Pettis defends well but is now up against the cage. Nice jab from Archuleta and then Pettis lands a body kick, forced the champ back. Another clean jab from Pettis. Pettis does a 360 spin in the air to close out the round. For what reason, only he knows. 10-9 Pettis
Round four: Pettis lands a right hand to start things off. They get in the clinch and Archuleta lands the takedown but Pettis pops right back up to his feet. A HUGE right hand from Pettis rock’s Archuleta’s head back. Pettis is looking great in the standup. Pettis tries a takedown but Archuleta defends well. Nice counter right hand lands flush for Pettis. Archuleta lunges in and tags the challenger with a jab but Pettis counters with a knee to the body. Kick to the body from Pettis. Nice jab from the champ snaps Pettis’ head back. Another snapping jab from the champion. Archuleta dives in with a flying knee, doesn’t land. 10-9 Pettis
Round five: Archuleta is down 3-1 so he needs to score a finish here if he wants to keep his title. Archuleta goes in and drives Pettis into the fence. Pettis turns around and escapes. Great defense. A great exchange and Pettis lands a clean right counter. Archuleta doing a lot of moving but Pettis is content with staying in the pocket and countering. It’s worked great for him all night. Kick to the body blocked by Pettis. Front kick from the champ lands to the body. A nice jab from Pettis, and another. Pettis is like a patient sniper in this fight and he’s landing a ton of clean shots. Archuleta changes level and picks Pettis up and slams him to the canvas. Half guard for the champ. He has to get moving. Looking for a submission but Pettis is defending well. Archuleta takes Pettis’ back. Pettis defending well and he is free from danger. The champ tries to take Pettis down but no go. Great fight! 10-9 Pettis
Final Result: Pettis via unanimous decision, wins Bantamweight title
Anthony Johnson vs. Jose Augusto
Round one: Low kick form Johnson. One-two punch from Johnson. Kick to the body from Augusto. Push kick by Johnson. Low kick form Augusto, and then a jab. Right hand to the body from Augusto. Augusto seems to have hurt his hand. He throws the right hand but is in visible pain. Overhand right from Johnson rocks Augusto. Two high kicks from Johnson, Augusto not backing down. Johnson has Augusto up against the cage and rocks him with an uppercut. Augusto hanging in. He tags Johnson and he is rocked! Augusto goes in and drops Johnson. “Rumble” in deep trouble as Augusto piles on the punishment. Looking for a rear-naked choke but Johnson escapes. Johnson out of danger and secures the takedown and rides out the round in full guard. 10-9 Augusto
Round two: Jab from Johnson and Augusto eats it. Right lunging hook from Augusto misses. Johnson ducks from a huge strike. Now stalking his foe and Johnson clips Augusto with a mean right hand that drops Augusto. “Rumble” goes in and lands one BIG hammer fist to seal the deal. WOW!
Final Result: Johnson via second round KO
Patricky Pitbull vs Peter Queally
Round one: Pitbull quick to get to the center of the cage. Low kick from Pitbull. Kick to the body from Queally. And there is a low blow from Pitbull, break in action. And it also seems that Pitbull was poked in the eye. Replays show otherwise. Action resumes. Three-punch combo from Pitbull, and then a right hand as a follow up. Double low kicks from Pitbull. Kick to the body lands for Pitbull. Pitbull talking to Queally. Low kick lands for Pitbull. Another low kick from Pitbull. One-two punch combo and then a low kick from Pitbull. Great execution of that combo. Queally’s leg is starting to show damage. Queally fires back with a low kick of his own. Pitbull shoots for a takedown and he gets it. Queally with open hand shots to Pitbull’s head, who has him up against the cage as the round come to an end. 10-9 Pitbull.
Round two: Nice jab to start things off for Queally. Then a 1-2 combo to the body lands for the SBG-trained fighter. Again, Pitbull aims for the lead leg of his foe. High kick from Queally and he slips. Pitbull has a cut above his right eye and it is bleeding pretty good. Nice right hand from Queally makes Pitbull retreat. Four-punch combo from Pitbull, two to the head and two to the body. Pitbull working the jab and then a low kick once again. One-two combo lands for Queally. Another jab from Pitbull, then another one-two combo Queally with a high kick. Pitbull changes levels and scores another takedown at the end of the round which should secure him the second frame. 10-9 Pitbull
After the round, doctor’s took a close look at the deep cut on the top of Pitbull’s head. Since the cutman couldn’t stop it from bleeding, the doctor had no choice but to call the fight. An unfortunate end for Pitbull, who was up 2-0 going into the final round.
Final Result: Queally via TKO (doctor’s stoppage)
Michael Page vs. Derek Anderson
Round one: Low kick from Anderson. Page light on his feet as usual, with his unorthodox stance. Anderson whiffs on a right hand. Page strikes with a quick right hand, Anderson unfazed. Flying knee attempt from Page, blocked by Anderson. Right uppercut from Page. Page lunges in and connects with a one-two combo. Anderson grabs a hold of Anderson up against the cage. Short elbows from Page, close to being illegal blows. Anderson still working for the takedown. Elbows to the side of the head from Page. Knee to the midsection from Page. Page drops Anderson with a high kick out of nowhere! And he inexplicably lets him back up. Anderson’s nose is a mess. Page drops him again with a right hand but Anderson recovers and bounces back up. Upon the doctor checking out Anderson’s broken nose at the end of round one, he calls an end to the fight.
Final Result: Page wins TKO (doctor’s stoppage due to broken nose)
