Paul Daley’s attempt to create the 175-pound division for Bellator MMA is still going strong. The promotion has announced that “Semtex” will face off against Jason Jackson at the upcoming Bellator 260 event, set to go down on June 11.
The fight comes two months after Daley — winner of three straight — knocked out Sabah Homassi at Bellator 257 in a fight that also took place at a catchweight of 175 pounds. All told, this will be the striker’s third consecutive fight at that weight.
As for Jackson, who is ranked No. 3 as a Welterweight, he is coming off a huge win over Neiman Gracie, which went down at Bellator 255 just last month. The win was “The Ass-Kicking Machine’s” fourth straight.
Interestingly enough, Michael Page has also competed at 175 pounds in his last two fights — including his recent nose-shattering TKO win over Derek Anderson at Bellator 258 — so perhaps the promotion is testing the waters in making that division a permanent fixture down the road.
Bellator 260 will feature a Welterweight title fight between Douglas Lima and undefeated (25-0) sensation Yaroslav Amosov, which will go down inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
