UFC 262 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s big show in Texas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

We start things at Sanford MMA in Florida. Michael Chandler is getting a workout in, with Nik Lentz coaching. He said that he’s had seven weeks off in the last 60 weeks. Covid and signing with the UFC has been very eventful for him. Chandler heads down to a store to grab a piece of art for his wife, with his coach in tow. It’s a gigantic frog. He explains how he found out about the vacant title fight on eight weeks of notice as they hang up the frog on the wall.

Beneil Dariush arrives in Houston, earlier than most fighters do. He gets to spend the weekend with his wife. He believes he got the fight with Tony Ferguson because most people were saying no to the bout. He is watching the Gregor Gillespie win from UFC Vegas 26 last weekend.

Charles Oliveira also arrives in Houston. He’s been working for 11 years in the UFC for this shot. He’s looking forward to the opportunity and wants to be an inspiration for others. He checks out the view from his hotel room.

Dariush is out for a meal with his wife. He says that the south has much nicer people than California and you can strike up a genuine conversation with strangers there. They take a carriage ride and Dariush says that he’s a slow moving person except for training and fighting. Him and his pregnant wife jokingly debate who will take care of their upcoming child.

Tony Ferguson and his team actually drove from California to Texas, so he has had to get in some sprints while they stopped for gas along the way. Him and Ben Saunders go for a late-night run, and security stops them from running beside a building. So they just do sprints in a big hotel parking lot instead.

And that’s it! UFC 262 goes down this Saturday in Houston.
