Floyd Mayweather will box social media personality Logan Paul at the upcoming Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) event on June 6 inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla., because Logan, like his brother Jake, is a bona fide box office draw.

It probably doesn’t matter that Paul, 0-1 as a professional boxer, is battling the greatest pugilist of the last decade, because most fans of the “sweet science” are tuning in to see Paul get his ass whooped — or witness the biggest upset in boxing history.

Either way, don’t expect much in the way of strategy from Mayweather.

“No strategy,” the 50-0 Mayweather told Barstool Sports. “I’ve just got to show up. If I want it to go one round, it’ll go one round. If I want it to go two, two. It’s all up to me. His first name is Logan … Logan Fall after June 6, because he’s gonna fall. Tune in.”

I guess he picked Round 10 for his Conor McGregor fight.

Mayweather, who turned 44 last February, hasn’t faced a legitimate boxer since outpointing Andre Berto back in Sept. 2015. Probably because it’s much easier to style on younger, less experienced fighters with some degree of name recognition (like this guy).

The Mayweather-Paul exhibition bout is scheduled for eight rounds and will cost $49.99 to watch. Featured undercard bouts include Badou Jack taking on WBA light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, while Jarrett Hurd battles Luis Arias in junior middleweight action.
