Harrison gets one of the higher profile opponents of her MMA career.

Women’s lightweight sensation Kayla Harrison is the overwhelming favorite to win her second PFL tournament, and she’ll undoubtedly be expected to win her next matchup this summer.

PFL announced on Tuesday that the two-time Olympic judo gold medalist will take on former UFC and Invicta FC fighter Cindy Dandois on June 25th. It’ll serve as the main event on a night when both the women’s lightweights and heavyweights will wrap up their respective regular seasons.

Harrison (9-0) has scarcely been challenged in her short MMA career. The 30-year-old won her 2021 regular season opener by TKO against Mariana Morais, once again showcasing her damaging ground strikes and dominance on the mat. Only Larissa Pacheco has been able to go the distance against her, but she didn’t even win a round in those two decision losses.

Dandois (16-6) is coming off a shutout decision loss to Kaitlin Young, which snapped a four-fight winning streak. The Belgian’s notable wins have come against Marloes Coenen, Megan Anderson, Jessamyn Duke, and Sheila Gaff. Her one UFC appearance was a legendarily bad fight against Alexis Davis in 2017, which saw her lose a decision and get immediately released.

It’s standard practice for PFL to book winners against losers in the second regular season matchup, so don’t venture into that territory. Needless to say, the odds of this fight being competitive are substantially low if not nil.
