Tarzann Finds a Son!
Triller Fight Club may be out of the Jake Paul business, but that doesn’t mean the silliness won’t continue.
Former UFC champ Vitor Belfort, who was supposed to make his combat sports return for ONE Championship in Singapore, will instead throw hands in the boxing ring opposite Mike Holston, the self-described “Real Tarzann.”
Press clippings bill Holston as “famed animal ranger,” which I guess makes sense since Belfort is always referring to himself as a “lion.”
“Vitor is one of the all-time greatest fighters in the world, and whatever happened between him and The Real Tarzann in the gym, their dispute belongs in the Triller Fight Club ring with gloves on,” said Ryan Kavanaugh, co-owner of Triller Fight Club parent company TrillerNet. “We look forward to seeing who prevails.”
Belfort and Holston got into a scuffle in Boca Raton earlier this year and will settle their score on June 19 in Miami on the undercard of the Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos lightweight pay-per-view (PPV) main event.
The card will set you back $49.99.
Belfort, 44, has 18 knockouts in 26 professional wins (with three submissions) but looked like a shell of his former self in his final UFC fights. “The Phenom” got knocked out in five of his last seven appearances inside the Octagon (with one later changed to a no contest).
Holston, meanwhile, “trains MMA” which I guess is good enough in today’s climate.
