Catch the Invicta FC Phoenix Rising one-night atomweight tournament starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.
Do you like one-night tournaments? Well Invicta FC has just the solution for you on this Friday night!
Tonight (June 11th) at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Invicta FC will crown a number one contender to Alesha Zappitella’s atomweight throne. The popular Phoenix Rising tournament is here and fan votes were used to determine the quarterfinal matchups. Here’s a refresher on the rules:
The tournament starts off with one-round quarterfinals, and the semifinals will be randomized if there are no finishes. Otherwise the person with the fastest finish gets to choose her opponent. The semis are also one round, followed by a three-round tournament final to crown the tournament champ. Fighters aren’t allowed to compete for more than five-rounds in a single night, hence the final is just three rounds and the other two tournament bouts are a combined two rounds.
If you missed the news several weeks ago, the days of Invicta FC on UFC Fight Pass are over. They have found a new home on AXS TV in the United States and Fight Network in Canada. However, as was the case for its last show, tonight you get a free live stream on YouTube starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT! To get yourself better prepped for this event, check out Victor Rodriguez’s event preview.
