Bellator MMA has a new Welterweight champion thanks to a dominant performance from Yaroslav Amosov, who schooled the now-former champion, Douglas Lima, for five rounds to earn a unanimous decision win in the main event of Bellator 260.
For five rounds, Amosov used his wrestling to secure several takedowns, neutralizing Lima’s most powerful tools throughout the fight. When on the ground, Lima simply had no answer for Amosov since he couldn’t find a way to get back to his feet.
Every round was pretty much the same, Amosov used his outstanding grappling and sambo skills to grab a hold of the champion, take him down and more importantly, keep him down. Much to the chagrin of fight fans, who booed every time a takedown occurred, AMosov found the recipe for success, earning him his first taste of Bellator gold.
