Running into an ex-boss is like running into an ex-girlfriend.
Awkwarrrrrd.
Longtime UFC play-by-play man Mike Goldberg, who was tossed from the promotion back in late 2016, ran into former boss and current UFC President Dana White Las Vegas while coaching his son’s hockey team in a local tournament.
White politely asked, “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“I walked up, and I said, ‘Hey, Dana, how are you?’” Goldberg told Heavy.com. “We shook hands. I said I’d love to stay in touch. He said we should do that. And there you go. After that amount of time, it was just an awkward situation. It was a fluke, but then again maybe it was meant to be.”
To be fair, White is not a big fan of the pop-in.
Goldberg eventually found his way to the commentary desk for Bellator MMA, but that relationship ended earlier this year when promotion president Scott Coker teased a new look for its highly-publicized transition to Showtime Sports.
Expect to see (and hear) Goldberg when Extreme Bare Knuckle Boxing returns on July 16.
