Ovince Saint Preux feels the referee turned the tide of his fight with Tanner Boser at UFC Vegas 30.
Ovince Saint Preux is hoping his TKO loss to Tanner Boser this past weekend at UFC Vegas 30 will be changed to a no contest.
Saint Preux was stopped in the second round by Boser after the Canadian landed a big knee followed by a barrage of punches to get the win. Just before that sequence took place Boser appeared to grab the fence whilst getting back to his feet, which prompted referee Jason Herzog to touch Saint Preux’s back as Boser got back to his feet.
“I felt the ref put his hand on my back, which is only done to pause the action or call a finish,” Saint Preux told MMA Fighting. “I slightly paused and then the tide turned.
“We will be protesting and requesting a no-contest.”
The Nevada State Athletic Commission can change the result of a bout due to mistakes such as a scoring error or a misapplication of the rules by the referee. However, it’s unknown as to whether Saint Preux will get his wish as the fight will be changed to a no contest.
Saint Preux has now been stopped in consecutive fights, whilst the win for Boser was his first since July 2020.
