Conor McGregor has yet to face Dustin Poirier in the UFC 264 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, which takes place this Sat. night (July 10) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, but he’s already being fitted for the promotion’s 155-pound title.

For the second time in his storied MMA career.

That means “Notorious” expects to tarnish “The Diamond” in this weekend’s headliner, then move on to face reigning 155-pound kingpin Charles Oliveira. Just don’t expect “Do Bronx” to put up much resistance if and when they do actually fight.

“Yeah, it’s Oliveira next,” McGregor told BT Sport (transcribed by Mike Bohn). “We’ll dance with the Brazilians again, and I look forward to it. He’s timid. He’s going to crumble.”

The feeling appears to be mutual.

Oliveira, 31, is the winner of nine straight with eight nasty finishes. Only longtime contender Tony Ferguson was able to escape “Do Bronx” without getting stopped during the Brazilian’s electric run, which dates back to late 2017.

If McGregor does return to the win column at UFC 264, expect a face off with Oliveira inside the cage. If not, that honor goes to Poirier, who also earns a crack at the crown with a victory this weekend in “Sin City.”
