Conor McGregor gives Dustin Poirier a taste of his own medicine with an attempted calf kick at the UFC 264 pre-fight press conference.
Conor McGregor gave Dustin Poirier a taste of his own medicine at the UFC 264 pre-fight press conference staredown (watch it here).
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, was forced to intervene during the faceoff after McGregor snapped off a quick kick at Poirier’s lower half. The staredown occurred during Thursday’s press conference ahead of UFC 264, which takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, this weekend (Sat., July 10, 2021) streaming online via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV).
Poirier remained calm and collected throughout the conference, picking his spot to throw verbal jabs at McGregor. “The Notorious” one was far more amped up, pulling out old tricks by mentioning Poirier’s wife (again), hometown and hot sauce.

Poirier and McGregor are one apiece in their trilogy, with McGregor scoring a first-round technical knockout at UFC 178 in 2014 and Poirier earning a second round finish at UFC 257 in January of this year (watch it).
