Jake Paul thinks McGregor’s antics around UFC 264 show the Irishman has lost ‘it’.
Conor McGregor appears to be doing his best to generate heat for his match-up with Dustin Poirier at tomorrow night’s UFC 264. Those tactics boiled over as McGregor flared up at the pre-fight press conference and even lashed out against a very cool and unbothered Poirier.
We’ve seen it all before, with McGregor being relentless in his attempts to get under his opponent’s skin. However, for this fight his barbs seem blunted. And some are wondering if McGregor’s trash talk is more about self-motivation than intimidation.
Count Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned combat sports disruptor, as one of those who thinks McGregor’s trash talk is falling flat and exposing something interesting about ‘The Notorious’ One.
“You can tell Conor has lost ‘it’”, wrote Paul on Twitter. “He no longer speaks from a place of authenticity and you can tell he’s trying to convince himself of his own lies.”
You can tell Conor has lost “it”
He no longer speaks from a place of authenticity & you can tell he’s trying to convince himself of his own lies
He takes offense to everything now
He’s bathing in his own insecurity’s
When we fight I will further expose him for the fraud he is

“He takes offense to everything now,” continued Paul. “He’s bathing in his own insecurity’s [sic]. When we fight I will further expose him for the fraud he is.”
Paul has claimed in the past that he had tabled an offer to fight with McGregor and that the bout was close to being made. However, nothing from McGregor’s side (or anywhere else) backs up those claims.
Paul further trolled McGregor with an image of the Irishman slumped over after his loss to Poirier in January. Paul claimed he was instructing his jeweller to construct a custom piece featuring that image for $100,000.
I had my jeweler custom make me a $100,000 dollar diamond necklace of this frame

Poirier vs. McGregor 3 goes down in the main event of UFC 264 on Saturday night in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With both men having beat the other, it’s believed (or hoped) this third fight will bring a close to their rivalry and determine who has earned the ultimate bragging rights.
Paul is currently prepared to face former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match on Showtime. Paul is 3-0 after his recent win over Ben Askren at Triller Fight Club.
