Check out the full video highlights of Cory Sandhagen vs. T.J. Dillashaw from the UFC Vegas 32 main event.
Cory Sandhagen and T.J. Dillashaw went to war in the main event of UFC Vegas 32 on Saturday night, but there could only be one winner. And that was the returning Dillashaw, who took home a split decision win.
Sandhagen and Dillashaw had a very competitive first round. Dillashaw pressured early, but Sandhagen was ready for it and threw a flying knee right as his opponent shot in for takedown. That turned into an inverted triangle and both men went to work on the ground. Dillashaw got out of the submission attempt and continued to shoot in for takedowns and push Sandhagen up against the cage.
The second round saw Dillashaw come forward again and look for takedowns, but Sandhagen was reading him well and defending most of them. Sandhagen also dropped Dillashaw with a left hand near the halfway mark of the round and kept peppering him with hard shots, which opened up a nasty cut over the right eye of the former champion.
Despite the cut, Dillashaw would not let Sandhagen breathe and kept the pressure up. He landed some heavy leg kicks on Sandhagen and would do great work in the clinch as the fight went on. The judges were needed, and Dillashaw was declared the winner by way of split decision.
