Stipe Miocic still doesn’t seem happy with the UFC.
On Sunday night, Singapore-based MMA promotion ONE Championship put up a social media question. Accompanied by a pensive-looking photo of CEO Chatri Sityodtong with a pen and paper in front of him and the words “Who Should I Sign?” the post came with this caption:
Who should Chatri sign to ONE Championship? Nominate yourself or a fighter you know via the link in our bio
One of the noteworthy responses came from former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, who replied with a bunch of thinking emojis. He then elaborated a little bit by posing this question addressed to @mmabettingclub.
I shouldn’t have to wait for a winner, I have the most heavyweight title defenses of all time… we’re 1:1 but DC got instant rematches and trilogies against me?
Miocic hasn’t been shy about his sentiments towards the company and its most prominent figurehead Dana White. He’s been vocal about feeling disrespected even during the height of his reign as the most dominant heavyweight champion in history, which White claims he could not understand.
Then there’s the supposed M.O. of UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell where the organization reportedly threatened to strip Miocic of the belt on “at least five occasions.”
The 38-year-old Ohio native last saw action at UFC 260 in March, when he lost the title to Francis Ngannou via second-round KO.
