Ray Cooper III and Rory MacDonald will fight on August 13th.
The Professional Fighters League will return in just two weeks to kick off its 2021 postseason. Headlining the first show is a welterweight semifinal between Ray Cooper III and former UFC title challenger and ex-Bellator champ Rory MacDonald. Cooper won the 2019 tournament after losing in the 2018 final, and went 2-0 in the 2021 regular season.
Even though they won’t be part of the tournament, those who competed in the regular season like Natan Schulte and Gleison Tibau (who controversially beat MacDonald) will populate the preliminary card getting some cage time in. Schulte vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier is the featured prelim, and former UFC fighter Darrell Horcher will make his PFL debut against a TBD opponent.
This show and all of the other semifinal events will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.
