Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski will (finally) defend his 145-pound strap against No. 2-ranked division contender Brian Ortega in the upcoming UFC 266 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for Sat., Sept. 25, 2021 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now they have an official poster.
In The UFC 266 co-main event, also scheduled for five championship rounds, defending women’s flyweight titleholder Valentina Shevchenko will put her gold up for grabs against grizzled No. 3 contender Lauren Murphy, winner of five straight.
That’s not all.
Longtime welterweight fan favorite Nick Diaz makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon after more than six years away from combat sports. Diaz takes on former 170-pound champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler, a rematch from their UFC 47 showdown all the way back in 2004, which the Stockton striker won by second-round knockout.
