Bellator 264: “Mousasi vs Salter” is set to air TONIGHT (Sat., July 31, 2021) from inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn, which will feature a Middleweight title fight between division king, Gegard Mousasi, and No. 1 contender, John Salter. In the Welterweight co-main event, former division champion Andrey Koreshkov will face Sabah Homasi.
Bellator 264’s main card will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET. MMAmania.com will deliver results for the full card and comprehensive play-by-play for the televised portion of Bellator 264 below.

BELLATOR 264 PLAY-BY-PLAY:
Gegard Mousasi vs. John Salter
Round 1: Mousasi moves forward with a one-two combo. Salter shoots for a takedown and it’s stuffed by Mousasi. Salter pushes him up to the cage and eventually takes him down. Salter throwing some shots as Mousasi tries to get up. Salter doing a great job keeping him down for now. Salter takes Mousasi’s back. Salter lands a knee to Mousasi’s side, then to his thighs. Mousasi looking for a kimura, standing. Salter simply won’t let Mousasi breath here in the opening round, great pressure and wrestling so far. Salter is trying to take down Mousasi one more time before the round comes to a close, but no-go. 10-9 Salter
Round 2: Salter clips Mousasi with a left hand. Mousasi fires back and lands a right hand. Jab from Mousasi. Left hook from Mousasi. Salter shoots for a takedown and he gets it again. He pushes Mousasi up against the cage. “Dreamcatcher” trying hard to get up but Salter is very strong. He eventually gets back to his feet. Mousasi reverses position and he is now on top. He postures and gets up and is now landing bombs. Not a good position for Salter because Mousasi has great ground-and-pound. Mousasi is unloading big shots, elbows, punches but Salter survives the round. 10-9 Mousasi
Round 3: These men are working hard, as evidenced by their bodies being soaked in sweat. Mousasi stuffs Salter’s takedown. Mousasi is now pushing forward. Salter goes in for a takedown but Mousasi reverses position and he is once again on top of Salter raining down punches. Mousasi plastering his foe with hard bombs and Dan Miragliota puts an end to the fight. He was taking too much punishment.
Final Result: Mousasi def. Salter via third round TKO
Andrey Koreshkov vs Sabah Homasi
Round 1: Both men exchange leg kicks. Homasi pushes Koreshkov up against the cage. Tussle for position. Spinning backfist for Koreshkov. Knees to the thighs from Homasi. A stalemate up against the cage for the majority of this round. Elbow thrusts from Koreshkov. Huge overhand right barely misses for Homasi. Flying knee from Homasi and Koreshkov moves out of the way and starts unloading with a four-punch combination. Calf kick from Koreshkov. Closes the distance and lands a knee up the middle. A super tight round to open things up. 10-9 Koreshkov.
Round 2: Koreshkov with a nice right hand. Both men come out swinging, Koreshkov lands a nice knee that hurts Homasi. He fires back with a huge right hand. Another knee lands for Koreshkov and Homasi has been cut. Koreshkov lifts Homasi and he takes him down. Koreshkov working an arm triangle. He is now looking for a rear-naked choke. Koreshkov landing some shots from behind. Homasi looks gassed, and he’s bleeding. Homasi is trying his hardest to get up but Koreshkov is all over him. 10-9 Koreshkov
Round 3: Homasi goes in for a takedown but Koreshkov stuffs. Knees to the side of the body from Koreshkov, he is really starting to take over. Koreshkov lands some huge bombs to the body of Homasi, who is just holding on for dear life. No offense from Homasi this round is going to make it tough for him to win without a finish. Homasi turns into Koreshkov and he is now in guard. Koreshkov fighting to get up, Homasi not doing much with his position. All Homasi is doing is trying to hold him down. He does land some shots as time expires 10-9 Koreshkov
Final Result: Koreshkov def. Homasi via unanimous decision
Magomed Magomedov vs. Raufeon Stots
Round 1: Head kick from Stots, Magomedov fires back with a kick to the body. Spinning back kick to the midsection from Magomedov. Spinning back fist from Magomedov hits air. Double jab from Stots. Both men are talking to one another. A feeling out process now three minutes in. Front kick from Magomedov. Stots lands a body kick but Magomedov grabs a hold of his leg and pushes him up against the cage. Magomedov pushing Stots up against the cage but can not get the takedown. Stots takes Magomedov down as the rounds comes to an end. That was good enough to give him the round. 10-9 Stots.
Round 2: Stots throws a leg kick and Magomedov once a gain grabs a hold of it and pushes him to the cage. He can’t score the takedown. Magomedov with a nice spinning elbow and Stots lands a huge right hand as a counter. They go to the ground, great scrambling from both wrestling powerhouses. Nice right hand from Stots lands. Front kick from Magomedov barely misses. Stots lands with double jabs and sends Magomedov back. Magomedov goes in for the takedown and it is stuffed by Stots. Magomedov goes in again and it is stuffed one more time. Overhand right from Magomedov lands, Stots eats it. Spinning backfist from Magomedov. Close round. 10-9 Magomedov
Round 3: Stots with a nice right hand lands and whips Magomedov’s head back. Magomedov goes in for another takedown and Stots stuffs it. He takes his back and is looking for a rear-naked choke. He has it. It’s tight. they are hand fighting, Magomedov is trying hard to escape. Both hooks are in for Stots. Magomedov has one of Stots’ hands, preventing him from tightening the choke. Stots lets it go and Magomedov is in side control now. 90 seconds left in the fight, Magomedov needs a finish here to get the win. Magomedov looking for an armbar. He takes his back now. 20 seconds to work. Looking for a rear-naked choke as time runs out. Great fight! 10-9 Stots.
Final Result: Stots def. Magomedov via unanimous decision
Davion Franklin vs. Everett Cummings
Round 1: Cummings with a low kick, barley moves his foe. Franklin goes in lands a huge hick kick then a right hand as he stuns Cummings. He starts unloading bombs as Cummings tries to cover up. It’s all over! That was fast…21 seconds fast.
Final Result: Franklin def. Cummings via first round knockout
Ty Gwerder vs. Khadzhimurat Bestaev
Round 1: Gwerder whiffs in a high kick to start things off. High kick from Bestaev. Nice left hand from Gwerder lands and Bestaev fires back with a knee up the middle. Gwerder drops Bestaev with a big left hook and he pounces, but decides to let him back up. Bestaev is hurt still but he is hanging in there. High kick from Gwerder and Bestaev pulls guard and is now looking for an armbar. Gwerder escapes and lets him up. Gwerder picks Bestaev up and slams him to the canvas and is now in side control. Gwerder goes in and with the clinch. Bestaev turns things around and starts unloading in Gwerder up against the cage. He survives. Bestaev goes for a takedown but Gwerder stuffs it to close out the opening round. 10-9 Gwerder
Round 2: Bestaev with a nice body kick. Nice uppercut from Bestaev finds its target. Bestaev with a three-punch combo, he’s really picking up the pace here. Gwerder lands a right hook but not too much power behind it. Calk kick from Gwereder and then a left hook. Gwerder lands a right and Bestaev pretends to be hurt. Uppercut from Bestaev lands. Wicked leg kick from Gwerder huts Bestaev’s ribs. A lot of feinting from Bestaev, needs to be careful. High kick lands for Bestaev. Gwerder just took a big gasp for air. Head kick from Bestaev, Gwerder looks gassed and Bestaev lands an uppercut. Gwerder gets a lazy takedown. 10-9 Bestaev
Round 3: Bestaev lands a nice head kick and he rocks Gwerder with a huge left hand! He tries to get up but eats a kick to the face and goes back to the cage. He is really hurt but he is surviving! Bestaev nearly finished it there but Gwerder gets the takedown, but he is cut bad. Bestaev is looking for a triangle and he has it tight. Gwerder escapes, he was likely aided by his blood, made it slippery enough for him to get out. Go figure. He is really leaking. Bestaev is looking for another triangle and he has it in for a little bit before Gwerder finds his way out again. Gwerder with some elbows from top position. Gwerder postures and lands a big right. Bestaev looks gasses after starting the round great. Both men exchange shots in the final 10 seconds to close out the round. 10-9 Bestaev
Final Result: Bestaev def. Gwerder via unanimous decision
