For the first time in over a year Bellator MMA is set to make its highly-anticipated return to Dublin, Ireland. The Viacom-owned mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion announced that it would be touching down in Conor McGregor territory on Nov. 5, 2021 to stage Bellator 270 from inside 3Arena.
Headlining the event will be a Bantamweight bout between Ireland’s own James Gallagher, who will face off against Patrick Mix. Ranked No. 6 in the official Bellator rankings, “Strabanimal” is currently riding a four fight win streak and was last seen defeating Callum Ellenor at Bellator Millan in October 2020.
As for Mix, he was last seen taking out Albert Morales at Bellator 258 last May, getting him back on track after suffering the first loss of his pro MMA career at the hands of Juan Archuleta. Overall, Mix is is 14-1, 4-1 under the Bellator banner.
Gallagher and Mix were initially set to fight at Bellator 258 before “Strabanimal” was forced out of the fight for undisclosed reasons.
In the co-main event, Peter Queally — who is also fighting out of Straight Blast Gym in Ireland — will look to go up 2-0 on Patricky Freire when they collide once again in a pivotal Lightweight scrap. Queally initially defeated “Pitbull” at Bellator 258 a few months ago via doctor stoppage (eye poke), which is why an immediate rematch was in order.
