UFC welterweight attraction Nate Diaz was not impressed by the cruiserweight boxing match between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley, which headlined the Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) event last Sunday night (Aug. 29) in Cleveland.
“These guys both suck,” Diaz wrote on Twitter.
Sounds like Paul, 24, is just as unimpressed with the 36 year-old Diaz, who is coming off back-to-back losses to Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards and stands at just 1-3 over the last five years.
“Again, another loser talking up,” Paul told reporters. “Of course he wants a payday. I’m one of the money fighters now in boxing. The guy’s got a chin, but he doesn’t land punches right. So that fight’s there. No problem. Thank you for the attention. Thank you for watching me. I appreciate it fanboy.”
Paul improved to 4-0 with three knockouts by defeating Woodley following eight rounds of main event action, his second straight victory over a UFC veteran after laying waste to Ben Askren last April in Atlanta, Georgia.
With so many fighters “salivating” to fight Paul, I would have to imagine Diaz is pretty far down the list of potential candidates.
