Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continue to attack each other over the internet.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will forever be linked in the annals of MMA history. The pair first met back at UFC 196 in 2016, Diaz coming in on short notice for Rafael dos Anjos. In that fight Diaz tapped McGregor with a choke, eradicating the Irishman’s air of invincibility.

The pair rematched a few months later with McGregor taking a decision after a close and bloody fight. The pair have remained enemies ever since, always keen to potshot at each other with insults from across the internet.

Yesterday the pair’s conflict flared up again after McGregor, who is currently healing from a broken leg suffered against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, hinted that a trilogy fight with Diaz could take place in the future. Diaz responded to that with, “Bruh u can’t walk or fight right now why u talking shit?”

McGregor then responded with a challenge for Diaz to come see him in Los Angeles. This lead to both men filling their timelines with remarks about each other. Diaz’s lengthiest message suggested that McGregor should have learned about checking leg kicks from their fights with each other, especially the one at UFC 202 where McGregor was left needing crutches.

McGregor responded to this with a series of images cherry-picked from his fights with Diaz, who he called a “little cockroach”. “Bones heal. Blunt force trauma to the brain? Not so much,” wrote McGregor in one tweet, followed by the hashtag #seeyouwheneveriwant

At this time of writing Diaz seemed to have the last word, for now, with a tweet showing the aftermath of their first fight. The caption: “And you dead”.

Diaz is coming off a loss to Leon Edwards in June. Since then, in addition to beefing with McGregor, he has gone back and forth with Dustin Poirier over a potential fight. McGregor also seems keen on fighting Poirier, despite losing to ‘The Diamond’ twice this year.
