If TRT-tor shows up, this could end like Rocky IV.
Oscar De La Hoya contracted COVID-19 just days before his return to the “sweet science,” so the matchmakers at Triller Fight Club were forced to send former UFC champion Vitor Belfort into battle against geriatric pugilist Evander Holyfield.
“The Phenom” jumped out to an early favorite against the smaller “Golden Boy,” but against the larger “Real Deal” the Brazilian is now reduced to the role of underdog. Holyfield opened at -140 to +110 for Belfort, according to BetOnline.ag.
“Evander Holyfield is in better shape today than when he last fought and this heavyweight bout is sure to be something for the history books,” Triller mouthpiece Ryan Kavanaugh said in a recent press release.
It will certainly be history if Holyfield croaks. Not to be a Sour Susan but the aging “Real Deal” turns 59 next month and hasn’t competed in over a decade. That may explain why California State Athletic Commission told Triller to pack its bags.
Goodbye Los Angeles, hello Hollywood.
