Ben Parrish came in as a big underdog in his fight against Christian Edwards at Bellator 266, and rightfully so. Parrish was making his Bellator debut and coming off a two-year break due to injury. Furthermore, Edwards was undefeated at 5-0, all inside the Bellator cage.
None of that seemed to impress or rattle Parrish.
From the jump, Edwards came out firing, clipping Parrish with a front kick and two-punch combo right away to get his attention. Parrish, though, ate the shots and kept marching forward, clipping Edwards with a nasty left hand that dropped him. From there, “Big Tuna” pounced on his wounded foe and delivered two heavy hammer fists to put an end to the fight.
And it took all of 38 seconds.
Parrish moves to 5-1 and makes a huge statement to the rest of Bellator’s Light Heavyweight division by taking out the No. 8 ranked fighter in the stacked weight class. Not a bad way for Parrish to start his run in his new home.
