Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 205-pound titleholder Jon Jones is facing some heavyweight charges after being arrested in Las Vegas on Friday morning, where “Bones” was booked on misdemeanor battery domestic violence, as well as injuring and tampering with a vehicle.

That’s according to a report from ESPN.

Jones is being held at Clark County Detention Center and while bail was set at just $8,000, a 12-hour hold will keep the pound-for-pound great behind bars until early tomorrow morning. From there, Jones will have to appear in front of a judge.

Something he’s probably getting used to by now.

Jones, 34, was in “Sin City” for his Hall of Fame induction alongside fellow light heavyweight veteran Alexander Gustafsson, though UFC President Dana White indicated there were no plans to talk about the former champ’s future at 265 pounds.

Jones (26-1, 1 NC) previously teased a UFC return in the second half of 2022.

“I think when I come back as a heavyweight I’ll think I’ll do more legally controversial shit so I can sell more pay-per-views,” Jones told reporters on Thursday. “I’m gonna have to work for the money I get so I’m gonna have to sell the fight. I have always just focused on winning.”

I’m pretty sure this isn’t what Jones had in mind.

Despite his many accomplishments inside the cage, Jones has struggled to maintain his public image. An “unhealthy relationship with alcohol” has been to blame in the past, along with a shine-stealing posse comprised of career-killing “idiots.”

Expect more details on his latest arrest in the coming hours.
