Lots of hits, and lots of misses. It’s the circle of life, Simba.

I am once again asking that you show some love to our guy Jerry at Fight Commentary Breakdowns. If you’re a sucker for all kinds of absurd and non-effective martial arts quackery, he’s got a lovely spread for you to gorge on. My personal favorites are usually knife defense segments, but the baseball bats really did it for me this time. You’ll see:

I’m not even mad. The dude with the hypnosis? That’s next level martial arts. You can’t learn that just anywhere. You want your high-level coaches? You wanna be under the tutelage of Firas Zahabi or Javier Mendez? Not me. Hook this right into my alcohol-ravaged veins. The streets need this.

Next we go straight to Nigeria for more Dambe Warriors action. This first bout has a fighter using his free hand to obstruct his opponent’s vision and flusters him effectively. It ends up paying off handsomely. The celebrations were great here as well.

This next one is pretty wild. At one point they just sock each other repeatedly. It’s rough.

Are you excited for bare knuckle MMA? Are you on the fence about it? Turns out, it can be pretty enjoyable. Here’s former King of the Cage fighter Andy Nguyen taking on Crystal Lawson at last week’s Gamebred FC bare knuckle MMA event. Turns out it’s not that far removed from regular MMA.

First, a minor disagreement at the weigh-ins.

Then it was time for the fight to actually happen. And boy, did it happen.

Again, the celebration at the end. Good stuff.

We return to Russian oddities, with STRELKA putting on a King of Fighters 3-on-3 fight format for MMA. These guys don’t even let the new guy coming in a chance to breathe. It’s a form of controlled chaos:

Then there’s this bout which seems to be operating primarily on the principle of rage and anger. I’m going to hazard a guess that by “Simple Guy“ they mean someone that doesn’t formally train and by “Black Guy“ they mean someone wearing black or a black belt in some discipline. It’s the only way this makes any real sense.

Anyway, it’s another bout between two people that clearly aren’t on a pro level but have a surprisingly high level of technique and/or awareness in their fighting.

This next fight isn’t great, but I have to include it because at least it’s got a nice setup to a textbook finish. That’s the thing about some of these fights. It’s like the endings are great but everything else before it is just so messy.

SlapFIGHT is keeping it outdoors with this odd ring setup. Big smacks, and a lot of weird. Well, that’s why we’re here. Sweaty dudes in the hills smacking the slap out of each other’s mouths.

Indian Kabaddi is something a lot of you may not have been exposed to, but basically it’s wrestling with a lot of slaps. Except here it looked kind of… not great, exactly. But we’ll highlight their toughness. This went places:

But this got way more intense, and there’s a fair bit of fun here with the ground fighting;

That’s it for this week, kids. Be safe, and take care of each other. And remember – you might think you can fight, but there are many guys like you all over the world.
